- The Salvation Army AOD Services WA operates a Sobering-Up Centre and Detoxification Service in the inner-city. The detoxification service provides residential stay and operates a supportive care model based on non-medical or low-medical interventions. Complex withdrawal cases or those with severe symptoms are referred to medical services.

These are free services and both are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to drug and alcohol users aged 18 years and older.

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Casual Support Workers, reporting to the Bridge House Coordinator. You will provide a high-quality support service to clients undergoing Sobering up or Detoxification at Bridge House located in Highgate and promote and provide a safe, caring and supportive environment.

We have a number of casual positions available to join our pool. The facility operates 24/7 evening and overnight shifts will be required of this position.

You will successfully
- Deliver a high-quality service delivery meeting our Model of Care
- Identify and use appropriate strategies to deal with challenging or high-risk situations
- Understand and respond to the needs of individuals experiencing AOD issues
- Undertake appropriate care and support for clients under the influence of AOD to address immediate needs
- Educate and assist clients with regards to rights, roles and responsibilities
- Understand and implement appropriate procedures and strategies to deal with crisis situations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and data
- Provide accurate records of emergency on-call situations during inactive periods
- Regularly maintain equipment, security, safety and evacuation protocols
- Report any incidents to the manager

You will have
- Minimum of Certificate 4 qualification in Community Services, AOD or Mental Health
- Demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills
- A valid WA Drivers licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- A current CPR component of First Aid
- Current Working with Children's Check
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
