**Position Summary**

The CTO is a key leadership role at Unleash live. As part of the Senior Leadership team, yYour primary function is to contribute to organisational decision-making related to vision, strategy and culture. You will own the development and implementation of the Company's engineering plans, be accountable for building a high-performing engineering team as well as be responsible for reporting engineering development to the board and investors. This role reports directly to the CEO and is instrumental in helping to achieve the strategic objectives of the business, providing cross-functional insight to ensure the business grows rapidly.

You are expected to be an effective communicator who knows how to engage, negotiate and build lasting relationships with stakeholders across the full spectrum of Unleash live. You will intelligently draw on internal resources to achieve the engineering outcomes set out in our annual business plan. Ideally you will be based in Australia, but able to travel internationally with regularity.

From recruitment to people management, it is your job to keep the team on track and highly motivated.. Moreover, when working with the client facing teams and product teams you are responsible for client satisfaction by ensuring that products and services meet the client's expectations. **Responsibilites**:

- Contribute actively to all discussions and decisions at the senior leadership level of Unleash live;
- Provide sound technical and strategic insights to senior leadership, CEO and Board to aid critical decisions across the business;
- Develop and oversee the engineering planning for the organisation;
- Report directly to the board on technology matters;
- Play a key role in securing equity funds and communicating with investors;
- Expand and handle the patent portfolio for the business together with the legal team;
- Identify, recruit and lead a high-performing engineering team;
- Coach and mentor direct reports to support their professional success and development goals;
- Lead the team of software development, machine learning, quality assurance, and data analytics
- Lead the implementation of the technology strategy in the product;
- Ensure the architecture is well-maintained and functional with minimum downtime;
- Establish strategic partnerships with vendors and interact with third-party service providers;
- Stay on top of trends and cutting-edge tech for the business (cloud, edge, ML, data analytics);
- Make sure that Unleash takes advantage of innovative technologies. Especially towards improving products and services.

**Preferred Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or software engineering;
- Minimum 10+ years relevant professional experience;
- Board-level reporting experience;
- Experience in a senior position in a rapid-growth environment;
- Right to work in Australia;
- Availability and willingness to travel internationally;
- Master or Post graduate degree in computer science or software engineering;
- Knowledge of robotics, drones and related software (ROS);
- Knowledge of video and media streaming and content distribution;
- Experience leading and deploying enterprise grade SaaS solutions;

**Technical Skills Required**:

- G Suite;Slack;
- Github and Zenhub;
- Detailed knowledge ofKnowledge of AWS serverless architectures;
- Detailed knowledge of machine learning and computer vision frameworks (pytorch, tensorflow, yolo);
- Detailed knowledge of edge compute (CPU, GPU, Cuda);
- Knowledge of modern data analytics and microservices;
- Knowledge of front end frameworks (angular, JS).
