They manage and coordinate the Government's restoration of communities and infrastructure reconstruction within disaster affected communities. We are looking for a results-driven Regional Liaison Officer to join the Operations Division team.

**About the Role**

As a Regional Liaison Officer, you will support the delivery and management of programs of works, including those funded under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) in Queensland. The role will involve working closely with delivery agents, including Councils, State Departments, and Non-Government Organisations to ensure the successful delivery of joint State and Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and resilience funded projects. You will be responsible for scoping, delivery, monitoring and acquittal of programs, which involves regular contact and engagement (remote and on-site) with delivery agents.
- Represent the Department in delivery agent relationships and provide effective issues management.
- Monitor submission progress and undertake assessments of submission conformance and eligibility.
- Undertake regular on-the-ground site inspections and program reviews to monitor the quality and completeness of funded works.
- Provide technical and project management advice to delivery agents for effective program delivery.
- Facilitate constructive resolutions between the Department and delivery agencies where disagreement has arisen.
- Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues, delivery agents, partners, and industry for successful program delivery.
- Provide support and training to delivery agents to promote understanding of the Management and Reporting System (MARS).
- Gain a local and regional understanding of community profiles, infrastructure, risks, and opportunities to prioritize resilience projects and initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and awareness of WH&S policies.
- Provide input into the program risk register.

**About You**

As a Regional Liason Officer, you will demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

- Possession of a degree in Civil Engineering (or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland is highly desirable.
- Approximately 7 years of post-RPEQ registration experience is advantageous.
- Project management skills in a program management environment or similar is highly advantageous.
- Proven experience in exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management is essential.
