Permanent full-time positionAbout the RoleThe Role is responsible for overseeing and co- ordinating the Breeder Rearing operations in delivering a safe, profitable, compliant and sustainable business that contributes to the achievements of Darwalla's Breeder Operational Plan.DutiesCo-ordination of all farm activities for the achievement of short and long-term business objectives.Ensure appropriately trained staff are available for specialist tasks including Vaccination, shed walks, grading of birds, etc.Undertake serological monitoring and ensure that all medications are administered as required and in the appropriate manner.Ensure all farm administration duties are performed in accordance with Darwalla guidelines, including the completion of all relevant reports and documentation within specified timeframes.
You will work together with a small experienced team and report directly to the Breeder Operations Manager.
It is a full-time permanent position, where you can expect to work some weekends.About the Farm Our 6-shed Killarney rearing farm is located 26 minutes from Warwick With a stunning view of Queen Mary Falls and surrounds About youThe successful candidate will meet the following criteria:Previous poultry industry experience is required Conversant with animal welfare standards, legislative obligations and Health, Safety and Environment policies and proceduresSelf-motivated to work unsupervised and demonstrate effective time management skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesAn integral member of the team and possess a demonstrated ability to manage and direct staff, whilst possessing an ability to allocate tasks to meet departmental objectivesStrive to meet industry "best practice" standardsDecision making and problem solving skillsConflict resolution skillExcellent communication skillsCar and LicenceForklift ticketBenefitsThe successful applicant will be offered a competitive remuneration package including salary, on-site housing & mobile phone.
