THE ROLE- Salary Package: Lecturer (Industry / Technical Academic) (Level B), from $110,274 to $130,472 p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.- Appointment Type: 3-years fixed term, full-time- Location: Macquarie University (Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced speech pathologist to provide outstanding speech pathology services for people with lifelong disabilities and high-quality academic teaching for postgraduate students in the Master of Speech and Language Pathology. In this role, you will provide speech pathology services via the MQ Health Speech and Hearing Clinic, focusing on clients who are National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants. In addition, you will deliver excellent academic teaching to students of the Master of Speech and Language Pathology, focusing on lifelong disability and current issues for speech pathology practice in Australia. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced speech pathologist to blend an active client caseload and service provision with academic teaching in an eminent pre-professional speech pathology course.
About You
You will be an experienced speech pathologist who is committed to delivering impactful outcomes for clients with lifelong disabilities affecting communication and/or swallowing. You will have an excellent knowledge about how lifelong disabilities affect communication and/or swallowing, extensive experience implementing aligned evidenced-based speech pathology practice, and a deep understanding of the factors shaping current speech pathology service delivery in Australia. You will be passionate about speech pathology education, and have a sound ability to communicate and discuss best practice with speech pathology students.
You will hold Certified Practising Membership of Speech Pathology Australia. You may also have a PhD or other research qualification relevant for speech pathology practice with lifelong disability.
You will have the ability to conceptualise, discuss, and draw sound conclusions about complex topics, and communicate your reasoning process clearly across all modalities. You will also value the opportunity to creatively link speech pathology practice and speech pathology education. Importantly, you will be able to manage a varied workload effectively.

The MQ Health Speech and Hearing Clinic provides a high-quality clinical service to the community and excellent clinical education for students of the Master of Speech and Language Pathology and the Master of Clinical Audiology. The clinic offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and rehabilitative speech pathology and audiology services. Its services help Australians to participate at home, at school, at work, and in social life. The MQ Health Speech and Hearing Clinic is a registered provider of the NDIS.
