We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated, media savvy professional to join the broadcast publicity team as a Junior Publicist based in our 1 Denison St North Sydney offices.

Reporting to the Head of Television Publicity, this role requires a confident, organized, smart and motivated team-player who can work quickly in order to manage the needs of individuals inside and outside the organization to achieve the goals of the 9Network.

The overall publicity team is responsible for developing and implementing extensive media strategies in order to gain the maximum level of favorable publicity for the 9Network.

Day to day you will:

- All aspects of securing publicity; from preparing media releases and ratings reports, constructing media itineraries, managing talent, booking facilities and working with media to secure the desired outcome by the network.
- Must garner a solid understanding of 9Network programming and programming strategies, the OzTam ratings and ratings systems, and the organizational structure of the business.
- Forge strong working relationships with media (broadcast, print, radio and digital) both locally and nationally, and work with network publicists in order to ascertain information and materials needed to secure this publicity.
- Capitalize on publicity opportunities and create avenues through the media for the promotion of 9Network presenters and programming

**Qualifications**:
**Enough about us, lets talk about you**

Ideally with a degree in journalism, communications, or public relations, you will have demonstrated experience in a similar PR/communications role. Possessing first class communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with media and talent, you will have a strong understanding of the media landscape.

We need a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and often changing environment. You will require excellent computer skills, high attention to detail, diplomacy and a "can do" attitude. A keen interest in television and all things Publicity is a must.

You will ideally have:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous employment experience as a publicist preferred
- Proven experience in media relations and writing
- Adaptable, positive attitude with the ability to work through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- A good working knowledge of the television industry
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications
