In this role you will be part of the Digital Services Modernisation project team that delivers the new Enterprise Capability Digital Services Gateway (DSG). DSG is an investment in new Application Programming Interface (API) management capability, focusing on enabling and supporting our new and existing Digital Service Providers (DSPs) now and into the future, as well as enable the provision of the best community experience with the right technology.

**Duties Include**:
You will be working as part of the DSG Operations team to manage, operate and support the DSG API Gateway hosted in cloud infrastructure. Your duties include:

- Undertake activities to support and facilitate API delivery and management.
- Contribute to the maintenance of CI /CD pipelines and code used for building API Gateways and API Portal platform.
- Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents and problems; with prioritisation and escalation of these when required.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation in the facilitation of incidents and problems related to the system and other service management processes.
- Perform regular system operational tasks, including daily health checks and standard service requests and fixes.
- Identify and implement monitoring requirements, including fine-tuning metrics and thresholds to enable proactive monitoring and alerting to support system availability, stability, and dynamic scaling.
- Streamline processes to improve efficiency; and maintain related documentation.
- Prepare and execute reports for executives and business stakeholders on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
- Create and drive strategic/tactical plans to address systemic risks, issues, and irritants.

**Mandatory Skills & Experience**
- Strong communications and customer service skills; with demonstratable experience in working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and managing their expectations, in production support activities context.
- Experience in Linux/RHEL operating system administration.
- Experience in AWS cloud technologies, services, and security mechanisms, including CloudFormation, Lambda, EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, IAM, Secrets Manager, and Certificate Manager.
- Experience in automation tools such as ANSIBLE and identifying workflows.
- Experience in source control and build pipeline support work using TFS / Git.
- Experience in API management software such as Apigee and knowledge of the OpenAPI Specification (OAS), RESTful, and JSON based APIs.
- Good understanding of API security standards such as OAuth2.
- Experience in proactively monitoring and analysing platform and API performance and providing recommendations for improving system efficiencies.
