Our paper and board division, including our Carole Park plant, plays a vital role in supporting our customers and communities.The Opportunity:We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance functions at our Carole Park board plant.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead mechanical and electrical teams to ensure a safe, high-performing, and reliable manufacturing environment.This leadership role requires a strong engineering background, a focus on preventative maintenance, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Key responsibilities:Lead a team of supervisors, trades, and planners across electrical and mechanical disciplines.Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies, fostering a culture of hazard awareness and risk mitigation.Oversee preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, and minimization of downtime.Drive maintenance systems, manage costs, and oversee spare parts management.Collaborate with production and scheduling teams to optimize plant availability and responsiveness.Support workforce planning, training, succession development, and recruitment.Lead improvement projects aligned with site and national priorities.What you'll bring to the role:Extensive engineering leadership experience within FMCG or manufacturing sectors.Strong people management skills focused on team building, engagement, and accountability.Proven ability to enhance asset reliability, implement lean practices, and optimize performance.Solid understanding of maintenance planning, cost control, and risk management.Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.Experience in the corrugated board or packaging industry is highly regarded but not essential.You will join a supportive, innovative team passionate about our work.
