**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
Council's Governance team are seeking an individual with a passion for information management to join the team in this exciting role. Responsible for the provision of timely and accurate information, the Access to Information Officer plays an important role in responding to requests from the public for access to Council information in accordance with the provisions of the _Governance Information (Public Access) Act 2009_.

The successful applicant will require:

- Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in the provision of access to information services to the public in both electronic and hard-copy forms, including the appropriate redaction of personal information where required.
- Solid knowledge of various acts that relate to the management and provision of information in local government including Privacy and Personal Information Protect Act 1998, Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, Copyright Act 1968 and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act NSW 1979.
- Highly developed skills in customer liaison and ability to meet deadlines.
- Highly experienced in researching of hard-copy and electronic information.
- Experience in using corporate systems, such as Customer Request Management Systems and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and Microsoft Office or similar.

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.

This role is located at Council's Merrylands office, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations from time to time. Hybrid working arrangements are available in accordance with Council's _Working from Home Procedure._

**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 9 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,350.06 to $1,552.57 per week, plus 10.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role.
