**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
We are seeking a **Drainer/Pipelayer** to join our team. This is a hands-on, site-based role involved with the construction, commissioning, and operation of water treatment plants.
As a Drainer/Pipelayer you will be involved in installing, maintaining and designing below-ground drainage systems and associated sewerage or effluent disposal systems.
- You will be responsible for the following: _
- Safe and compliant operation of water treatment plants.
- Monitoring and operating the water treatment plant including troubleshooting and optimisation and resolving any technical issues that arise.
- Setting out and installing drainage systems.
- Performing site drainage and de-watering procedures.
- Locating and clearing blockages.
- Excavating and levelling to line, depth and grade.
- Installation of Excavation supports.
- Interpreting technical drawings.
- Excavation for manholes.
- Construction of concrete pits.
- Compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
- Use of pressure testing equipment, excavators, jackhammers, compaction machinery, compressors, backhoes and dumpers.
**ABOUT YOU**
- To be considered for this position you will need:_
- An AQF Certificate III including at least two years' experience; or, 3 years employment experience may substitute for formal qualification.
- Understanding of the basics of pH control, coagulation / settling, filtration, and backwashing.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing/equipment repair and maintenance.
- Ability to operate a plant control system (HMI and basic setpoints).
- Open to overtime as required and occasional Saturdays.
