**About the role**

Bring your resource allocation experience to an environment where you will be able to challenge the status quo and bring your new ideas to life. Working as part of a dynamic, collaborative team, across a rotating morning and afternoon shift (9hrs) with one weekend in 3 (12hr shift) rosters, you will play an important role in managing our locomotive resources in our service delivery team.

Pacific National has approximately 2,500 train crew, 1200 wagons and 650 locomotives across the entire country and your role would be to ensure these resources are in the right place at the right time to run our train services.

In collaboration with the team, you will be responsible for managing and allocating crew and/or assets to daily work plans on the day of operations, taking into consideration crew availability, industrial constraints, utilisation of assets and our goal which is to safely deliver better customer value.
- _Note: you will be required to work shifts, including weekends (1 weekend in 3) and some public holidays._

Key responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

- Developing a resource program and allocating assets to daily work plans
- Consulting with stakeholders to ensure the allocation of assets and tasks meet operational requirements.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement to drive innovation.
- Ensure relevant health and safety standards and procedures are adhered to.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate strong analytical ability and a commitment to problem-solving, coupled with an innovative and creative thinking style.

High-level communication ability is essential, with verbal, written and interpersonal skills integral to success in this role. Ideal applicants will need to demonstrate relationship management strengths as a collaborative team player with clear evidence of your ability to build successful stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in rail, transport, heavy industry or other dynamic industry is advantageous
- Specialist or technical knowledge of transport, logistics planning and operations will be highly regarded
- Experience within large and complex organisation is preferred
- Demonstrated ability operating within dynamic and multi-faceted business operations advantageous
