Working with our clients across real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, we transform together delivering outcomes that improve people's lives. Working in partnership makes it possible to deliver the world's most impactful projects and programmes as we turn challenge into opportunity and complexity into success.
Our capabilities include programme, project, cost, asset and commercial management, controls and performance, procurement and supply chain, net zero and digital solutions.
We are majority-owned by CBRE Group, Inc., the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, with our partners holding a significant minority interest. Turner & Townsend and CBRE work together to provide clients with the premier programme, project and cost management offering in markets around the world.

The Construction Economics team collaborates closely with Turner & Townsend's Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers to deliver valuable insights into how evolving market conditions may influence project costs and delivery timelines. Cost escalation poses a significant risk to construction projects, particularly when budgets lack adequate contingency allowances. A core responsibility of the Construction Economics team is to anticipate market trends and forecast future cost movements on major client projects. This involves analysing labour and trade availability, evaluating contractor capacity, collecting and interpreting cost data, maintaining comprehensive cost escalation databases, and developing techniques to understand the likely direction of construction costs.

The Construction Economics team are also directly commissioned by clients for these services, helping them to navigate headwinds and opportunities in the outlook. The team have been involved with some of the most iconic projects and clients around the world and provide these services to all sectors, including real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources.

As a Graduate in the Construction Economics team, your role will be to provide support to the team with delivering these services for the business and our clients. This may include:

- Conducting research and analysis on global and local economic data,
- Sourcing key statistics and keeping the team's databases up to date,
- Tracking major construction projects across the country,
- Preparation of charts and graphs using key data,
- Assisting with writing commentary for client report and internal documents.

As a Graduate Construction Economist, you will join a team of industry-leading professionals who have extensive experience in delivering strategic insights for major clients on nationally significant construction projects across Australia. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of how a wide range of factors, including local market dynamics, government policy, economic trends, geopolitics, and supply chain conditions, can influence the cost and delivery of construction projects.

You will receive structured training, mentorship, and ongoing support to help you build your technical knowledge and professional capabilities. From day one, you'll gain exposure to the inner workings of high-profile projects and contribute to meaningful work that shapes the built environment.

We are looking for an individual who is:

- ** Data-driven**: you are comfortable working with Excel and large datasets and have a strong attention to detail.
- ** Curious and analytical**: You are eager to ask questions, understand the "why" behind trends, and dig deeper into the drivers of change.
- ** Strong researcher**: You are able to gather, interpret, and synthesise information from a variety of sources to support robust analysis.
