**About the laboratory**

Austin Health Pathology (AHP) provides comprehensive laboratory pathology testing to all the campuses of Austin Health and Mercy Hospital for Women. AHP performs high volume tests and most complex low volume testing, with an expanding volume of point of care testing performed at the majority of metropolitan and rural campuses. The Shepparton Laboratory services the Goulburn Valley and surrounding areas, performing tests for hospital and community patients across the region.

**About the role**

The role will include the following:

- Sort and distribute all samples as they arrive into the laboratory.
- Register specimens and request details into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Check sample labelling requirements are met and number samples and request forms with barcode labels.
- Respond to telephone enquiries and/or direct calls appropriately.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- Ability to enter data accurately.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and in a team situation.
- Laboratory experience.
- Able to identify and prioritise patient requests according to laboratory procedure.
