**About the Role**:
BHP's Innovation and Ventures team has an exciting role for a portfolio management professional.
As part of BHPs commitment to Innovation a new opportunity has become available for an Principal Portfolio Management to join the Innovation team.
Reporting to the Heads of Innovation, the primary responsibility of this role is to work as part of a team, to manage the diverse innovation portfolio spanning exploration, extraction and sustainability. The Principal Portfolio Management works closely with the Heads of Innovation to ensure the Innovation portfolios are balanced across priority areas. They will work the delivery teams to ensure individual innovation initiatives are executing according to the BHP Innovation approach and then monitor and analyse portfolio performance to ensure optimised delivery of the key strategic outcomes.
This role will be based in the BHP Perth office, flexible work options are available.
**About You**:
- Experience working in a planning, governance, business services, strategy or portfolio management role
- Experience working within an innovative organisation or team
- Project management or Financial Management experience across varying work fronts and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working within a global, or remote, team
- Experience working as a PMO in global initiatives
- Experience developing new processes and improving existing processes to enable efficiency
- Experience crafting communication messages to enterprise leadership team, e.g. memo, board paper, presentation
- Experience working with executive leadership teams
- Courage to challenge the status quo with clear, data backed, reasoning
- Tertiary qualification in a business related field;
- Strong working knowledge of Project Finance ;
