Are you a finance expert eager to combine your analytical skills with a love for television content?
We are looking for an experienced television professional to join our Content Acquisitions team, responsible for acquiring new content to add to our award-winning Entertainment slate.
As a Content Acquisitions Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in managing acquisition budgets and providing financial analysis for a select group of content channels.
You'll collaborate closely with channel teams to ensure programming needs are met within budget, contributing to the Foxtel Group's mission to deliver the best content experience for our customers.
This position is a 12-month fixed-term role.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain rolling budgets and forecasts across multiple content channels, e.g., Factual, Library Entertainment, and Movie channels.
Manage cash flow and amortisation, including regular reconciliations and reforecasts.
Conduct month-end variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
Oversee volume deals with key content partners and forecast delivery timelines.
Conduct pre-acquisition financial analysis to ensure affordability within budget constraints.
Track distributor spend, rights, and rate structures through ad-hoc analysis.
Provide cost evaluations for new channels and support long-term financial planning.
Partner with Commercial Finance for quarterly reforecasts and annual budget processes.
Conduct monthly TV and quarterly Movie audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Manage the movement of content between channels and ensure correct financial treatment.
Present monthly budget and forecast updates to key stakeholders.
Assist in developing and enhancing financial systems and reporting tools (IBMS).
Liaise with the Content Infrastructure team to identify and resolve system-related issues.
About your experience
2–3 years of experience in a finance-related role, ideally in content, media, or broadcasting.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Proven ability to work across multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
Experience with reconciliations and a high level of attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
Analytical mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Experience with What's On, IBMS, and PeopleSoft systems is advantageous.
Passionate about entertainment and television.
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
