About The Role
We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer who's passionate about building high-performing data solutions and equally comfortable engaging with stakeholders and clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that blends deep technical expertise with commercial awareness and consultative delivery.
You'll lead data engineering efforts across end-to-end Azure solutions — from scoping and architecture through to implementation and optimisation.
What You'll Do
Lead solution design and delivery across the Azure data stack (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake, SQL DB)
Work closely with clients to understand their data strategy, gather requirements, and present clear solution roadmaps
Architect scalable data platforms for ingestion, transformation, and advanced analytics
Develop robust data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and ensure data quality, governance, and reliability
Act as a trusted advisor — guide clients on best practices, cloud adoption frameworks, and modern data architectures
Monitor performance and optimise for cost using Azure-native tools
Mentor junior team members, contribute to internal knowledge sharing and delivery frameworks
What You'll Bring
5-7+ years in Data Engineering or Solution Architecture roles, ideally in consulting environments
Deep hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL
Strong stakeholder engagement and client-facing delivery experience — able to simplify complexity and influence non-technical stakeholders
Advanced SQL and Python skills (Scala or Java a bonus)
Experience designing end-to-end Azure data solutions, including CI/CD and DevOps best practices
Solid grasp of data modelling, warehousing, and cloud security principles
Bonus: Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and/or GCP (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Composer)
