**Position Title**: Staff Specialist - Community Paediatrics - up to 0.35FTE ending 30 June 2025

Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Community Health Centres across the District within Primary Care and Community Health to see children aged 0-5 in the community health setting under the Brighter Beginnings program with developmental, behavioural, and general paediatric concerns. This position will be a part of a multidisciplinary team focused on providing trauma informed care to vulnerable families. There is no on-call work required.

- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians - Paediatrics & Child Health Division or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
- Sound clinical knowledge in general Paediatrics demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
- Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department.
- Prior experience and training in Community Paediatrics (in addition to that required by the college for accreditation as a General Paediatrician and experience in working with vulnerable populations and behavioral Paediatrics preferred.
