For a digital client of Expertech, we are currently seeking a Lead Front End Developer | React to work on various digital web projects.
This is an initial 6-month contract, with the likelihood of extension or permanent placement at the end of the term.
The Lead React role combines hands-on development with management of a front end team.
Job Responsibilities
Own the frontend deliverables of assigned projects
Lead, mentor, and train the frontend development team across multiple projects, overseeing their technical growth
Develop high-quality, responsive, and scalable web applications using modern technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, plan, and deliver user-centric solutions
Ensure development process adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines
Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in frontend development
Work with project managers to estimate timelines, identify risks, and manage project delivery
Participate in code reviews, identify improvements, and implement solutions
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Assist the Head of Frontend Technology in achieving team goals
Perform ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications
BSc or MSc in Computer Science or equivalent, with 7+ years of relevant experience
7+ years of experience with React or similar frameworks, with strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills
Experience with Node.js as a backend framework is a plus
Proficient in writing testable code using Jest or similar frameworks
Skilled in HTML and CSS frameworks like Tailwind or equivalent
Experience working with microservice architectures
Familiarity with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tools within an Agile-Scrum environment
Experience working in Agile and Scrum teams
Experience developing for CMS and enterprise-level commerce systems
Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions
Knowledge of accessibility tools and delivering WCAG-compliant solutions
Ability to mentor developers of varying skill levels
While preference is for React Engineers to reside in Sydney, this role is WFH and open to candidates anywhere in Australia.
