**The National Sustainability Manager role**:
The National Sustainability Manager is responsible for implementation of the 2030 Sustainability Plan across the Australian business.
The role is in regular contact with the CEO and Australian Executive Committee, collaborates with local and global teams, and answers to the General Manager Recycling and Asphalt.
You will be a key leader and change agent with responsibility to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, to ensure efforts are efficient, aligned, and well communicated.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Own & implementthe sustainability program across the Australian business units, including roadmaps, frameworks and programs that are aligned with our global parent company, improve our performance on key sustainability matters, and support commercial outcomes.
- Work across Hanson Australia, the regional teams, and Hanson owned entities to develop objectives, and provide input and support where there is an sustainability impact, or opportunity to improve performance.
- Lead the development, tracking and communication of key sustainability metrics in the business.
- Monitor and influence the development of sustainability issues at Government, regulatory, industry and Heidelberg levels. Represent Hanson owned entities on relevant sector groups and organisations.
- Prepare and deliver training materials and case studies to promote sustainability improvements and awareness within the business.
- Co-ordinate development of Lifecycle Assessments and product sustainability profiling across the product range.
- Ensure that the sales and technical teams have the data they require to respond to customer queries on sustainability credentials of products, company sustainability performance and respond directly to customers when required.
- Drive the ongoing digitisation& automation of sustainability tools and data.
**What you need to be successful**:
- A degree qualification in an appropriate technical and/or commercial discipline. (eg. Engineering, Environmental, Science)
- Management experience in construction materials/minerals/quarrying including sustainability roles/experience.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data, including use of data visualisation tools to leverage business opportunities.
- Excellent stakeholder management & collaboration capabilities.
- High level of influencing and negotiating skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage, influence and build relationships easily.
- Strategic thinking and ability to build and implement a strategic plan.
- Passionate and driven to provide Sustainability best practice.
