
Quality & Compliance Manager I

We have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Quality & Compliance Manager to join our Product Quality & Compliance team. The Product Quality and Compliance Manager is accountable to ensure that across the BIG W business product safety, quality and compliance is embedded within the day to day operations to deliver our BIG W purpose " Making a real difference for families ". This role will lead the team of quality partners, standards and compliance specialists to partner across the BIG W business.

**About the Opportunity
As a Quality and Compliance Manager, you will be leading the Quality & Compliance team to ensure successful partnership across the commercial team to deliver great quality, safe products for all BIG W customer's.
The role of Quality and Compliance Manager include the following responsibilities:
- Leading the Hardgoods Standards Specialist to develop and embed product standards and protocols across all hardlines to deliver product safety, regulatory and compliance requirements for all products sold in the Big W
- Ensuring the compliance framework for product safety is developed and embedded within the BIG W operation end to end.
- Leading the delivery of product safety and compliance reporting across BIGW to identify any potential risks or failure in controls and ensure these are shared through Exco reporting.
- Building partnerships with heads of commercial and category managers to embed product safety mindset into the day to day operations
- Partnering with legal, group compliance and group risk on key regulatory issues or compliance changes which may impact the BIG W business.
- Partnering with BrandCo to deliver key frameworks which support delivery of great quality and value own brand products aligned to the strategic ambition for our own brands
- Leading & coaching the QA ,compliance and standards teams to build strong partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Leading the management of product recalls, withdrawals and severity 1 product complaints to ensure risks are well managed across BIG W

You are a self-driven leader with a strong background in product safety and compliance as well as previous experience in people management, ideally leading a team of Quality Assurance specialists. You will be recognised for your strategic mindset, people management skills and your ability to manage crisis and regulatory incidents.
You are proactive and able to identify gaps and convert these into opportunities and use commercial acumen to drive smart growth decisions. You maintain calm under pressure and have the ability to challenge the status quo and existing assumptions in order to promote innovative thinking and new solutions. Most importantly, engaging with stakeholders has no secret for you You work in a collaborative way with stakeholders at all levels, always with end to end thinking. You are a strong people leader and focus on continual development and coaching of your team.
