At Egis, we prioritise our people, and to enhance our Water capabilities, we are looking to recruit a skilled Water Senior Quantity Surveyor to operate as part of the Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line.This period marks an exhilarating time to join Egis's new Project, Programme, PMO and Commercial Management Capability ("P3M CM") UK, Ireland and Europe team, which is undergoing a transformative phase.

This is a pivotal leadership role for a commercially astute professional who thrives on driving performance, influencing strategic outcomes, and mentoring high-performing teams.Your Role & ImpactAs Senior Commercial Manager, you will be reporting to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead.
You will also:Provide executive-level oversight of commercial operations across multi-disciplinary programmesShape and implement procurement and contract strategies that align with client objectives and regulatory frameworksAct as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, regulators, and delivery partnersChampion commercial innovation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.This role is based in our client's office 4 days per week (Tamworth)Key Responsibilities:Strategic Commercial LeadershipDefine and execute commercial strategy across multi-workstream programmesLead contract negotiation, supplier performance, and risk managementEnsure compliance with NEC3/4, FIDIC, UK law, and sector-specific regulationsSupport work winning through commercial insight and bid strategyDrive commercial governance and reporting across all phasesProject & Cost ManagementOversee cost planning, benchmarking, and value engineeringManage post-contract commercial performance, change control, and final accountsProvide strategic input into feasibility studies and programme controlsStakeholder ManagementCollaborate with leadership to shape client-focused proposalsMentor and develop junior commercial staff, building future capabilityMaintain a robust knowledge base of lessons learned and commercial best practicesWhat You BringStrong financial modelling and commercial problem-solving skillsExcellent client-facing and supply chain engagement abilitiesSector experience in water, environment, defence, or nuclearIn-depth knowledge of CDM regulations and risk managementNEC3/4 contract expertise (Options A, C, E essential)Familiarity with ECI/ESI in design & build programmesValid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card desirableRight to work in the UK; role subject to client interview and acceptanceWhat do we need from youDegree qualified, or equivalentExperience of the development and implementation of proceduresCivil engineering works experience, including utilitiesKnowledge of a wide range of contract conditionsStrong contractual experienceExcellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant softwareAbility to solve problems efficientlyExcellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnelAbility to effectively prioritise a busy workload and meet project deadlinesEvidence new ways of thinking which deliver benefitsAbility to influence othersDesirableMember of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towardsWhat's in it for you?
