They help create a welcoming atmosphere during mealtimes and work to ensure residents receive nourishing and enjoyable meals tailored to their individual needs.Your Key ResponsibilitiesMeal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of meals, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under the supervision of the Cook or Head Chef.Serving Meals: Help in serving meals to residents during mealtimes, ensuring each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements.Dining Room Setup: Set up the dining areas before mealtimes, ensuring tables are clean and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area.
May also help with cleaning kitchen surfaces and storage areas.Resident Interaction: Interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during mealtimes, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate.Skills & ExperienceFood Handlers CertificateAdaptable, passionate and willing to learnCollaborative and skilled at teamworkFriendly and effective communication abilitiesRequirementsYou must have Australian Working Rights and a NDIS Worker Screening Check (or be willing to obtain it).
