Our Group includes; our Fan Experience Platform (Ticketek) that sells tickets and provides value added services, Event promoting with businesses across Touring (TEG Touring), Sport (TEG Sport), and Family Experiences (TEG Experiences) and our digital business (Ovation) which focuses on delivering seamless data-driven outcomes for our fans and partnersAbout the Role:The Engineering Manager will be responsible for line management and functional leadership of a multi-faceted engineering team including Full-stack, Front-end, Mobile, and Platform Engineers.Additionally, they will be continuously uplifting the engineering function of the business across security, reliability, culture, code quality, innovation, team growth and succession, and working closely with other functional and line managers to streamline the delivery operation of the Technology team.RequirementsWhat does a day in the life look like?
LeadershipLine manage, engage, mentor and lead a team of engineers of various specialties, including Fullstack, Frontend, Mobile, and Platform Engineers, and other software engineering as requiredEnsure adherence across the team to data privacy, security, reliability, and overall quality standardsProvide outcome based domain and thought leadership in the data space, across various functional teams and business units, including Application Engineering, Data Engineering, Products, Delivery, and othersContinuously uplift the engineering function of the Technology department across security, reliability, cultural, coding, delivery, and innovation pillarsWork closely with the Head of Engineering on recruitment and succession plansEnsure good skill coverage of both hard, soft and domain skills across the engineering teamWork alongside peer technical managers to ensure standardized adaptation of processes and frameworksProvide and support a governance framework for the engineering teamsProvide escalation support when delivery projects or scrums encounter significant problemsTechnicalAdhere to data privacy, security, reliability, and overall quality standardsApply solution design skills and input into architectureBe hands on with code as and when requiredResearch and make recommendations for implementation of the latest technologies where feasibleManage the ongoing modernization program of technical assets in the data domain, such as language/runtime support, infrastructure versions, patch compatibility, etcAbout YouEssential experience & skillsExcellent interpersonal communication skillsStrong leadership skills and tools with a proven track record of managing, mentoring, and leading a team of engineersStrong recruitment skillsStrong agile and project management skillsExcellent understanding of the software development lifecycle, its processes, and various tooling across each of its stagesA minimum of 10 years software engineering experience, delivering across multiple technologies and platforms in a commercial environmentAbility to present your ideas and proposals to senior management, peers and reportsAn ability to be able to apply both best practices and innovation, in equal measure, to deliver across a complex operating environmentBroad knowledge of solutions architecture, technical architecture designs, standards, and advanced corporate information system conceptsTertiary qualifications in Information TechnologyBenefitsHere's a taste of what TEG offers:Complimentary event ticketsBirthday and volunteering leaveWellbeing discounts & flu vaccinationsPaid parental leave & free employee support (EAP)Global rewards and recognitionLearning, development & career pathwaysA diverse, inclusive, and passionate teamEqual OpportunitiesTEG is an equal opportunity employer committed to embrace diversity, respect, and care for our people and communities.If there are any adjustments that need to be made to ensure you have a fair and equitable experience in our recruitment process, please advise us when scheduling your interview.
