Position: Painter
Role Overview:
The painter at Solid Paint will be responsible for applying a variety of finishes, including paint, varnish, and wallpaper, to buildings and structures. The primary objective is to protect, maintain, and enhance surface appearances.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and removing old coatings.
Mix and match paints and other finishes to achieve the desired color and texture.
Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
Ensure proper surface preparation and protection before application.
Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects according to specifications and deadlines.
Consult with clients and colleagues regarding color choices and material selection.
Perform minor repairs, such as patching drywall and sealing corners.
Manage inventory, ensuring painting supplies and tools are readily available.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant painting experience.
Strong knowledge of painting and decorating techniques.
Keen attention to detail and an eye for color.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Good physical condition for manual labor, including bending, kneeling, and lifting.
