Birchwood Equestrian is a privately owned company that specialises in the training of young horses to high performance level. For our 20 acre property in Bywong NSW, near Canberra, we are currently seeking for a highly experienced and capable staff member to join our stable on a full-time basis.

Horse Trainer - able to educate our horses on the ground with ability to manage and fully care for a team of horses independently and prepare horse training reports for owners.

The salary will be above award - $70,000 per annum for an experienced and skilled applicant.

Essential Skills:
All applicants must have a minimum of 3-years full time professional experience in the role, or at least 2 years full time highly relevant experience and a relevant qualification.

In addition, the following will be required:
Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to dressage and showjumping

Proven ability to train and educate young horses

Ability to plan and implement training regimes and feeding plans, record all horse training data and maintain horse training data and records

Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information

Ability to work in a team and independently

Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment and handling of horses, relevant to the training, care and preparation of performance horses

Proven as reliable employee, with excellent horsemanship skills

**Salary**: $70,000.00 per year
