In the role of Principal Planner, you will lead the delivery of active transport planning projects across the state and support the Manager (Cycling and Walking) by providing technical guidance for a broad range of complex/sensitive/large transport planning initiatives.
**Some of your responsibilities will include**: - Lead development and implementation of Queensland Walking Strategy and Action Plan for Walking and support delivery of actions by other members of the planning team. Lead active transport projects and initiatives across the state and ensure that all planning is undertaken in a multi-modal, integrated, affordable and value for money context. Identify strategic needs and priorities for development of active transport networks and facilities including options and recommendations for specific issues and to enable effective on-the-ground planning outcomes. Provide expert, strategic advice to the Manager (Cycling and Walking) and senior officers in relation to project risks, issues and opportunities. Prepare complex ministerial correspondence, project reports, presentations, briefing notes, submissions and other general correspondence. Contribute to the positive working environment of the division, including participating in ongoing business improvement processes and supervision and mentoring of junior staff members.
