The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with and support our Head Chef in preparing and delivering high-quality, plant-based dishes. You will play an important part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and maintaining our commitment to sustainability, creativity, and excellence in food. Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Head Chef to prepare and cook a variety of plant-based dishes.
Supporting the Head Chef in menu planning and execution, with attention to seasonal and sustainable ingredients.
Assisting in daily kitchen preparation, including cleaning, cutting, and marinating food.
Following prep lists and ensuring the kitchen is ready for service.
Coordinating with other kitchen and wait staff to deliver timely, high-quality service.
Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
Contributing creative ideas and supporting the development of new recipes.
Ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of dishes.
Accepting feedback and working with the Head Chef to make improvements.
Skills Required
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a higher-level qualification in cookery or a related field.
Applicants with at least three years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Demonstrated knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen practices.
Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of stock rotation, food handling, and kitchen operations.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
A passion for food, creativity, and continuous learning.
