We are looking for a passionate English language teacher to join our growing Sydney team

Established in Melbourne in 2007, Lonsdale Institute is founded on a belief in the student experience. Through the diversity and insight of our team of professionals, we deliver English language courses and vocational skill based training across three central locations in Sydney, Bondi, and Melbourne.

With our team of experienced TESOL teachers we strive to be a leader in ELICOS. Our success today is because of our talented and creative team of teachers. Our student base is expanding, and to ensure our ongoing success we need to add to our teaching team. We are looking for casual teachers who will be available for approximately 20 hours or more of teaching in either Monday to Friday day or evening schedules.

Monday to Wednesday sessions are in high demand and as such consistent availability from Monday to Wednesday is preferred.

We are currently seeking energetic, creative, and motivated teachers to teach our General English, EAP, and IELTS classes. Our needs are for teachers who are interested in 5 day or evening work schedules, and especially for teachers who specialise in beginner & elementary GE levels.

**About You**:

- have a Bachelor Degree in TESOL or equivalent; or a Bachelor Degree with a recognised TESOL qualification
- have full work rights in Australia
- be creative, organised, punctual, reliable, and professional
- be able to use a variety of learning-related technologies
- have a genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to professional development
- have a dynamic classroom presence
- have an awareness of international student mental health support needs
- have experience in using student-centric approaches, including the Communicative Approach, Task-based Approach, and others
- having a Masters Degree in TESOL, TEFL, or ELT is advantageous
- international teaching experience is advantageous (but not essential)

**What you will do**:

- Conduct lessons using the Communicative or Task-based Approaches
- designing dynamic and effective lessons based on the Lonsdale Institute objectives, and the needs of students
- assisting newly arrived international students learn about and understand Australian life and society
- giving monthly one-to-one feedback to students during teaching hours
- monitoring students' attendance and progress
- assessing students on a monthly basis per the Lonsdale Institute assessment system
- prepare students for vocational training courses (including English for Specific Purposes classes)

Our Teachers are paid based on the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award.
