What You'll Be Doing
This position is responsible for the professional, operational and clinical leadership and management of Psychologists within the inpatient Mental Health (MH) team including the coordination and provision of accessible, equitable, and evidence-based Psychology services and delivery of direct clinical care to consumers and their families.

The role ensures high quality Psychology services are provided to consumers, carers and families by providing expert advice and working with other MH service managers to enhance service standards and quality across the district.

The position also manages a clinical caseload.

Selection Criteria

  • A bachelor or post graduate degree in Psychology and Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia with a minimum of one year at the 9th year of service and thereafter point on the salary scale for Psychologist.
  • Demonstrated professional and operational leadership experience, including demonstrated understanding and experience of service provision in complex health settings.
  • Demonstrated high level clinical and advanced practice skills in Psychology assessment and intervention and expertise in clinical leadership and clinical supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process and policy/practice guideline development.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands, monitor performance, problem solve and utilise independent professional judgement.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills (oral and written) including advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
