It's rare for these kinds of opportunities to present themselves in the modern world but it's one of those roles that you'll be telling juniors about in 20 years' time, of how you got your start and learned your craft.

We are looking for a young professional or recent graduate, with little to no insurance experience, who is eager to enter a dynamic, relationship driven Industry. Working alongside our Underwriters and insurance professionals, you will be exposed to different parts of the business and have the opportunity to expand your knowledge, learn and grow a career. This is an opportunity to enter an internationally renown company on the ground floor and be mentored into a leading insurance professional.

This role is within the Brooklyn Underwriting Division of AXA XL. In this role, you will support the Brooklyn Underwriting teams to service their client base. All while being provided with training to develop a solid foundation of the workings of the industry with a view for the individual to grow into a more senior role within the Underwriting function and one day look after your own set of clients.

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract.

What you'll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Underwriter Processing – Assisting the existing team with looking after their brokers and client base from a sales and servicing standpoint.
  • Client Documentation – Creating documentation for clients and broker partners.
  • Internal Reporting – Supporting the operations of the business with information flow between departments.
  • System Administration – Supporting the business to onboard new brokers and ensure that systems are running effectively.
  • General Support – Anything and everything else the industry entails, we'll look to ensure you are exposed to it all and become a well-rounded insurance professional.

You will report to the Delegated Account & MSP Manager

What you will BRING

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • A desire to enter the insurance industry & forge a career for themselves within an international powerhouse
  • An ability to build effective working relationships and provide a consistently first-class customer service internally and / or externally
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and excellent communication skills, exercising appropriate discretion in dealing with people from all levels of the Company
  • Ability to organize yourself (and others if applicable) including effective scheduling, prioritization and time management skills, completing tasks to meet tight deadlines. Demonstrating a 'can do' attitude
  • Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team
  • Desirable Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
