Remote Operations Manager, responsible for a diverse service portfolio across communities and programs.

Your New Role

An established and highly respected community services provider is seeking a Remote Operations Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of programs across North West Queensland. This is a key leadership role, overseeing a broad range of services designed to strengthen wellbeing, resilience, and social outcomes for children, families, and communities.

Based in Mount Isa, this role requires a resilient and adaptable leader who can balance operational management with strategic contribution, while ensuring high standards of service delivery and governance compliance across multiple program areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership for a portfolio that includes community, family, youth, education, and homelessness support programs.
  • Lead, mentor, and support staff across multiple sites, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services.
  • Ensure compliance with funding requirements, quality frameworks, and organisational governance standards.
  • Partner with the Executive Team to drive strategic initiatives and contribute to organisation-wide planning.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with government agencies, community partners, and funding bodies.
  • Oversee continuous improvement, data management, and outcome measurement across services.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be an experienced human services leader with:

  • A Bachelor-level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline (post-graduate qualifications highly regarded).
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience within community services, human services, or a related statutory sector.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex service portfolios.
  • Strong governance knowledge and a commitment to best practice service delivery.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships.
  • Flexibility to travel across rural and remote communities, including overnight stays.
  • Relevant clearances (Working with Children, Disability Worker Screening) and current First Aid/CPR.
