- Maintain and enhance
CA Gen applications
supporting business-critical legacy systems and integrations. - Analyze existing
codebases and data structures
to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities. - Participate in
modernization initiatives
, including migration of CA Gen applications to newer platforms or technologies (e.g., Java, .NET, or cloud environments). - Utilize
Guardien
for version control, release management, and migration of code changes across environments. - Perform
defect analysis, debugging, and resolution
of issues raised during system testing and production support. - Develop and maintain
interface components
using XML, APIs, and other integration tools or technologies. - Work on
UNIX-based systems
to execute, monitor, and optimize batch and online processes. - Collaborate with
DBAs
to manage and tune Oracle database components supporting CA Gen applications. - Prepare and maintain
technical documentation
, including design specifications, test plans, and release notes. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Business Analysts, Testers, Architects, and Project Managers) to ensure smooth project delivery and transition to newer stacks.
- Ensure compliance with
organizational standards
, change control processes, and data integrity requirements.
Required Technical Skills:
- CA Gen
(AllFusion / COOL:Gen / IEF) – strong hands-on experience in analysis, design, and development - Guardien
– version control, migration, and configuration management - UNIX / Linux
– scripting, job scheduling, and troubleshooting - Oracle Database
– SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning - XML
– data parsing, transformations, and integration - Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills in complex legacy environments
- Exposure to
modernization projects
involving CA Gen application transformation preferred
