The Roles
Workshop Fitter — Braemar-based
- Assemble belt cleaner systems (blades, torsion mounts, tensioners) and dust suppression units to drawings/specs.
- Light MIG welding & fabrication: cutting, drilling, basic jig work; fit-outs and small brackets.
- Finish & QA: torque checks, measurements, tagging, photos, build sheets.
- Kitting & dispatch: pick parts, pack/crate, label, and prepare for transport.
- Maintain a safe, organized workspace (5S), look after tools/jigs, and complete pre-starts.
- Contribute to improvements: suggest better ways, build steps, or parts handling.
- Install & commission belt cleaner systems and dust suppression on client sites (surface & underground).
- Service & maintain belt cleaners: inspections, change-outs, tensioning, wear measurement, and reporting.
- Diagnose & rectify issues on conveyors belt cleansers; liaise with customers and offer feedback and support
- Safety & compliance: JSEAs/SWMS, permits, isolations/LOTO, photos/notes, close-out service reports.
- Travel & scheduling: work across NSW (Mudgee, Hunter, Illawarra)
- Service Ute provided: Ute spares and tooling provided and to be kept stocked and tidy.
Essential qualifications & experience
Both roles
- Australian trade qualification: Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitting)
- Able to read/follow drawings, build sheets and safety procedures.
Current driver's license and unrestricted Australian work rights.
Basic MIG welding & light fabrication experience.
- Comfortable with cutting, drilling and assembly to tolerance.
- Have Forklift license
- Have a Positive can-do attitude
- Strong safety mindset; reliable, tidy work habits.
Site Services Technician
- Willing and able to work on mine sites (incl. underground) and travel within NSW.
- Work unsupervised & represent One industries in the field
- White Card, Working at Heights, Confined Space
- Forklift (LF), EWP, Dogging/Rigging, LVR/CPR.
- Prior experience with conveyor belt cleaners, dust suppression, or mining shutdowns.
- Underground medicals/inductions (e.g., NSW Order 43)
- Stable, full-time roles with OT & penalties and all required PPE/inductions provided.
