About the role:

Operating within Safety & Wellbeing, the Staff Safety & Wellbeing Consultant plays a key role in building a psychologically safe, inclusive and respectful workplace at ACU. Reporting to the National Manager, Safety and Wellbeing, the position is responsible for implementing and monitoring frameworks, policies and initiatives that prevent and respond to workplace gender-based violence, psychosocial hazards, and psychological injury. The position holder will:

• require strong counselling and case-management skills to support staff disclosures of gender-based violence (sexual harm), harassment, bullying, or other forms of psychological harm
• ensure the University meets its obligations under the Work Health and Safety Acts, OHS Act 2004 (Vic), the Fair Work Act reforms), and the National Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence in Higher Education; and
• lead prevention and early intervention initiatives, supports cultural change programs, and provides expert guidance to People and Capability partners and leaders to manage psychosocial risk and promote wellbeing.

• Total remuneration valued to $138,111 - $154,409 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $116,706 - $130,478 (pro rata) pa (HEW 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
• 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
• Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
