We are growing and looking for a friendly, reliable, and professional Casual Dental Assistant to join our team and help support our patients on their oral health journey.

About the Role

As a Casual Dental Assistant with Lucent Dental, you will assist our clinical team to deliver an exceptional patient experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, values precision, and embodies a caring, positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chairside assisting across general, cosmetic, and preventive dentistry
  • Preparation and sterilisation of instruments in line with infection control protocols
  • Patient support and communication before, during, and after treatment
  • Room setup and turnover between appointments
  • Digital charting and clinical notes entry (training provided)
  • Assisting with photography, scanning, and digital workflows
  • Providing a welcoming and calming presence for all patients
  • Supporting reception and administrative tasks as needed
  • Ensuring clinical areas remain clean, organised, and well-stocked

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to assist wherever needed
  • Interest in cosmetic dentistry and digital workflows (training provided)
  • Flexible availability, including occasional Saturdays if required

Qualifications & Experience

Preferred but not required – we are willing to train the right candidate:

  • Previous dental assisting experience OR completion/ongoing study of a dental assisting certificate (Cert III in Dental Assisting)
  • Knowledge of infection control standards (AS/NZS 4815 or 4187)
  • Experience with dental software (Core Practice) is a bonus
