Professional Air Solutions Pty Ltd trading as Vanguard Tasmania is recruiting a HVAC‑R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) Apprentice to join our team from January 2026. We welcome applicants looking to start their apprenticeship and existing apprentices seeking a company change. This role provides structured training, hands‑on experience across residential and commercial work, and clear career pathways toward trade qualification and licensing.
Who Should Apply
- First‑year apprentices ready to begin a career in HVAC‑R.
- Second‑ or third‑year apprentices seeking to transfer employers for better mentorship, broader experience, or improved training support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified technicians with installation, service, repair, and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Prepare and tidy job sites; load and unload materials and equipment.
- Complete assigned workplace and off‑job training modules and assessments.
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain accurate job documentation.
- Learn fault diagnosis, system installation and commissioning, and electrical basics under supervision.
- Attend toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions.
What We Require
- Current enrolment or eligibility to commence an HVAC‑R apprenticeship starting January 2026.
- For transfers: evidence of apprenticeship progress or training records from your current employer or RTO.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and ability to work in a team or autonomously.
- Manual driver's licence is mandatory; reliable transport.
- White Card preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Working With Vulnerable People certification or willingness to obtain
- Federal Police check, or willingness to obtain
- Year 10 completion (or equivalent) with strong proficiency in English and Maths
- Ability to lift 25kg, work at heights, and in confined spaces
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
