Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). Our vessel's harness Wind, Solar and Wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.
We are under contracts with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond.
About the Role
The Systems Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring we continually deliver an ever-improving Bluebottle. The role will deliver high-quality systems engineering design artefacts, steering electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to deliver optimal autonomous maritime solutions to customers that meets all objectives.
The Engineering function is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the design of Ocius assets, particularly the Bluebottle platform, while actively responding to operational and production requirements to ensure continuous improvement.
A typical day as the new Systems Engineer could include:
Developing systems specs meeting Defence standards
Collaborating with technical and functional stakeholders
Developing and leading test plans and executions
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree (or minimum 10 years experience in an engineering related role)
Minimum 3 years systems engineering experience in an industry such as medical, transport, defence
Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering processes, Systems – level thinking and the ability to work in an environment with tailored systems engineering processes
Ability to develop and deliver high quality systems engineering artefacts such as architecture designs, requirement specifications, traceability matrices, interface control documents
Strong proficiency in spreadsheet manipulation and document generation tools (MS Word)
Proven ability to steer systems engineering discussions with multi-disciplined Engineers and work with non-engineering stakeholders
