An exciting opportunity for a Manager Compliance has come about at the Legal Practice Board (Board). There is currently one permanent full time vacancy to be filled from this recruitment process.

The Board is a statutory body, responsible for the regulation of legal services in Western Australia and all Western Australian legal practitioners.

The Board aims to be a leader in the area of regulation and we pride ourselves on working with our stakeholders to ensure we have an engaged, active, competent, and ethical legal profession.

About the role

Reporting to the Director Accreditation and Customer Service, this position leads the specialist compliance function to deal with complex issues relating to the regulatory requirements of applicants for admission as an Australian lawyer and legal practitioners. The position is responsible for dealing with higher level regulatory issues, including the complaints process and triaging of matters, professional indemnity insurance obligations, the accreditation of academic institutions providing tertiary education, practical legal training, and continuous professional development, freedom of information and internal review requests. The position works with the Accreditation and Customer Service leadership team to develop and improve the delivery of the Board's customer service function. It participates in the development of capacity in the customer service team to ensure a high level of knowledge of the regulatory functions and contributes to the strategic development and management of the team and the Board.
