About the role
We are seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanical Fitters to join our team at AAKKA Mining & Civil Pty Ltd in Moranbah, Queensland. This is a full-time position that will see you play a vital role in maintaining and repairing the heavy vehicles and machinery that are essential to our mining and civil construction operations.
What you'll be doing
- Diagnose, service and repair a range of Heavy Road Train Trucks and Equipment, including, Loaders, Graders and more
- Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety of all vehicles and machinery
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues using your extensive technical knowledge and expertise
- Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to coordinate workflow and ensure efficient operations
- Maintain detailed records of all work completed and parts used
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant health and safety policies and procedures
What we're looking for
- Formal trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics or equivalent
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with unrestricted work rights
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanical Fitter, ideally in a mining or construction environment
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently to identify and resolve complex issues
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive, safety-focused workplace culture
- A current driver's licence and the ability to obtain the relevant mining/construction site licenses
