Seeking a qualified Medical Practice Assistant - to join our busy team. No weekends required.

  • General Practice experience highly desirable

Your role will include but is not limited:

  • Treatment room assistant working directly under a General Practitioner
  • Helping with patient assessments, including updating the patient file, measuring BP, pulse, temperature, respiration, blood glucose
  • Documenting patient height, weight, visual acuity
  • Perform ear irrigation, ECG's
  • Perform urinalysis and pregnancy testing
  • Stitch removal
  • Sterilising instruments
  • Sending recalls and reminders for prevention activities or bringing patients back into the clinic for review or to discuss test results with the doctors
  • Helping with stock control and ordering supplies
  • Providing wound care services
  • Assisting GPs with procedures
  • Helping to coordinate patient referrals with other providers
  • Providing patient education on a range of different topics
  • Help the practice with the different accreditation activities
  • Be involved in clinical discussions and contribute ideas towards improving the quality of practice services
  • Ensuring compliance for accreditation purposes
  • Collecting and handling specimens
