We pride ourselves on delivering a safe, memorable, and environmentally friendly experience, built on exceptional customer service, presentation, and professionalism.
The Role
Our Crew Members play a key part in the daily operations of the GoBoat location. Working closely with the Location Manager and Senior Crew, you will help ensure each guest enjoys a safe, premium, and seamless on-water experience. This hands-on role includes vessel readiness, guest check-in and briefing, customer service, operational support, and maintaining high presentation standards across the site.
You will embody GoBoat's values — hospitality, safety, teamwork, and sustainability — ensuring our guests leave with a smile and a story to share.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & Vessel Readiness
- Assist in the opening and closing of the GoBoat location, ensuring vessels and facilities are ready for daily operation.
- Conduct pre-departure safety and maintenance checks on GoBoat vessels and support craft.
- Ensure all boats are clean, charged, and presented to the highest standard before hire.
- Support with mooring, launching, docking, and retrieval of boats safely and efficiently.
- Maintain GoBoat Support Vessel readiness, reporting any mechanical or safety issues immediately.
- Carry out regular washdowns and detailing
- Ensure all vessels remain fuelled/charged, and that safety gear and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
2. Guest Experience & Customer Service
- Deliver a welcoming, friendly, and informative guest experience.
- Conduct safety briefings and check-ins/check-outs in line with GoBoat policy and procedures.
- Provide clear operational guidance to guests to ensure safety and compliance on-water.
- Respond to customer enquiries and booking questions (in person, via phone, and email).
- Handle special requests and group bookings in coordination with the Location Manager.
- Patrol and monitor customer activity on-water, assisting guests as needed and reporting unsafe behaviour.
3. Site Presentation & Asset Care
- Keep the office, dock, and storage/workshop areas clean, safe, and organised at all times.
- Conduct daily housekeeping of the site, ensuring high presentation standards.
- Report all repairs, maintenance, and damages promptly to the Location Manager.
- Uphold GoBoat brand standards — uniform (GoBoat polo or tee, hat, navy/tan shorts, non-slip footwear) and professional presentation at all times.
- Ensure boats are safely moored overnight, with correct fendering and lines adjusted for weather conditions.
4. Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with Senior Crew and Location Manager to ensure smooth operations.
- Share information and feedback to improve site efficiency and customer experience.
- Promote GoBoat's reputation as a responsible and community-minded operator.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all GoBoat safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Monitor weather and river conditions, and assist management in implementing safety measures.
- Conduct tasks in line with WHS standards, including safe manual handling and PPE use.
- Immediately report any incidents, hazards, or near misses to management.
- Support a workplace culture focused on safety, inclusivity, and respect.
Essential Requirements
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Confidence working outdoors and on the water.
- Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks.
- Current Boat Licence (preferred but not essential).
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Availability on weekends, public holidays, and peak trading periods.
What We Offer
- A supportive and positive team environment.
