Selection Criteria

KSC1 How do you support teachers, specialists and therapy staff in the delivery of engaging programs for students with additional needs.

Role

A Teacher Assistant at Yarrabah is required to support teachers in the delivery of education and life skills programs and to assist students with personal attendant care.

Responsibilities

Work within an expectation of flexibility across the school.

Assist students during educational programs and be guided by teachers and therapy staff.

Assist with the supervision of pupils in playgrounds, at camps, on excursions, in sporting and recreational activities, therapy activities, life skills.

Assist with toileting, meals and moving students requiring special care.

Assist in the preparation of student resources, equipment and curriculum support resources.

Assist students on an individual or group basis in specific learning areas.

Assist and support the implementation of instructional programs.

Provide basic physical and emotional care for students.

Ensure work areas and materials, equipment and appliances are maintained in a clean and ready to use condition.

Other duties as determined by the Leadership team.

Who May Apply

Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position. Preferably experience working in a Special School.

Must hold a current Employee Working With Children¿s check.
