About the Opportunity

A privately-owned labour hire and field service business is expanding operations into South East Queensland (Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast) and Western Australia, building from the ground up.

We're seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to take charge of that expansion — based either in Brisbane or Perth, depending on where your networks and focus lie, with a willingness to travel frequently to meet growth and performance targets.

You'll be responsible for establishing client relationships, vendor registrations, and labour supply across civil, construction, and mining industries.


The Role

This position is focused entirely on labour hire and field service supply.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Building vendor registrations and client relationships across mining, civil and construction.
  • Responding to ad-hoc labour requests, relief coverage, shutdowns and project labour.
  • Developing longer-term placements and crew coverage arrangements.
  • Managing quoting and PO tracking through internal systems (CRM + Xero).
  • Working directly with senior management to build structure and commercial footprint from zero.

About You

You're a self-starter who can build something from scratch.

You know the mining and civil environment and have the discipline to convert conversations into purchase orders.

You'll have:

  • Proven experience in business development or account management within labour hire, mining or civil.
  • Strong understanding of labour pricing, quoting and margin control.
  • Professional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently, backed by strong commercial awareness and reporting discipline.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across SEQ and WA as required to meet business and client needs.
