If you're an electrical design professional with a deep understanding of Energex standards and the ability to see both the technical detail
and
the big picture — this is your chance to step into a key position on a high-performing, future-focused team.

The role requires the management of power distribution (subdivision) design projects including management of concept and detailed design scopes for design and construct projects while ensuring the scope, budget and design program are met. This is a hands-on role which would suit a motivated professional who enjoys working within a close-knit team.

Training in design management will be provided to the successful candidate, preferred experience will be for electrical trade within the distribution network and great communication skills.

What You'll Be Doing

• Program, plan, and manage the production of concept and detailed designs for subdivision projects
• Liaise with internal Construction Project Managers and design team to ensure client requirements are met
• Ensure that all necessary reviews, verifications, and validations are planned and conducted, and the outcomes of these are incorporated into the design
• Liaise with all relevant Authorities on design and construction parameters, permits and approvals
• Monitor and control design costs within budget and liaise with the construction project manager in relation to any design changes
• Ensure that the design conforms to all safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operating requirements with the assistance of our quality and RPEQ team
• Monitor external design resources to ensure that the elements of their design (including verification) are coordinated with overall design, procurement, and construction requirements

What You'll Bring

• Well-developed written and oral communication skills with competent computer skills with Microsoft Office Packages (project, word and excel etc.)
• Great communication – both with clients and internal teams
• A drive to deliver quality design outcomes and improve how things are done
• A collaborative, can-do mindset and a commitment to doing the job right
• Energex LCC Design & Planning manual, QECM, QEMM, AS3000, AS3008, AS2067, STNW1174/1175
• DNSPs and appropriate wiring rules.
