Transport Planner / Scheduler

Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Planner / Scheduler for an immediate start for an ongoing casual assignment.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 38 hours per week
Location: Forrestfield
Start: ASAP
Hourly rate: $38.00 p/h + Super depending on experience
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team in a key operational role supporting freight and logistics. This position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding freight requirements, bookings, and inquiries.
- Maintain clear and professional communication at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Manage paperwork and manifests for incoming freight, ensuring timely booking and delivery alignment with customer requirements.
- Provide accurate and timely information to customers and assist colleagues or management as required.
- Offer backup support in areas such as major customer bookings and delivery discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Monitor daily operations, record efficiencies, and support continuous process improvements.
- Complete client KPIs accurately and provide explanations for any missed time slots.
About you:
- Experience in a logistics-related role.
- Understanding of transport and warehouse operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- High level of computer literacy, SAP experience and attention to detail.
- Customer service focused, proactive, and positive attitude.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
- Initiative, professionalism, integrity, and a team-oriented mindset.
