Golding is recruiting for a Mining Superintendent to join the Team at South Walker Creek | 1.5 hours to Mackay | 8:6 Roster | Contract 2030

Golding is in search of a skilled Mining Superintendent to join our team at South Walker Creek mine, located near Coppabella. This role will play a vital part within our project leadership team, overseeing mining operations with efficiency and expertise.

Operating on an 8:6 Dayshift Only Roster with vehicle, camp accommodation and meals.

The preferred candidate will possess relevant qualifications and showcase outstanding proficiency, encompassing essential technical know-how and a demonstrated history of leveraging strong interpersonal skills, including leadership and communication. They will display robust motivation and enthusiasm, excelling in a fast-paced and challenging work setting.

Key Role Tasks:

• Ensure the safety and well-being of your crew by adhering to all Safety Health Management System requirements, actively promoting safety initiatives, and leading by example
• Collaborate with supervisors to engage all employees and labour hire personnel, ensuring they perform to their full potential
• Contribute to client planning processes and take ownership of executing the mining plan efficiently and effectively
• Monitor leave, turnover, and individual performance metrics, oversee recruitment activities to maintain optimal crew numbers
• Meet planned productivity targets while upholding operating standards to ensure operational excellence
• Assess the training needs of the production team, develop a comprehensive training plan, and implement it within the scope of your authority
• Liaise between the client and other contract partners, addressing any issues related to the interaction between client and contractor work operations

Key Capability requirements:

• Demonstrated success in implementing and enforcing safety standards and regulatory compliance within a mining environment
• Ability to identify and mitigate workplace hazards to ensure a safe working environment
• Strong leadership capabilities surrounding change management, influence, motivation, mediation, negotiation, and enhancing performance, satisfaction, and skill levels among all team members
• Experience in leading continuous roster multi-shift teams is essential
• Proven experience managing multiple truck and shovel fleets effectively
• Ability to collaborate successfully within a client-focused team and execute operational plans
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities, enabling seamless interaction and collaboration across all levels
• Prioritisation and organisational skills, enabling timely task completion and effective delegation
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
