Make a difference at Board level

Are you an experienced Board Director with mental health clinical experience and a commitment to inclusive, community-focused governance? Each is seeking a Non-Executive Board Director to help shape the future of our organisation and the communities we serve.

Each is a profit for purpose organisation delivering health, mental health, disability, counselling, and community support services across Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, Queensland, and the ACT. Our Board guides governance and strategy, ensuring we stay true to our mission and values while creating real and lasting impact.

At Each, we recognise the value of lived experience and diverse perspectives. Our Board plays a critical role in ensuring safe, high-quality, and accessible services for all — including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTIQA+ communities, people with disability, neurodivergent people, refugees, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

As a Non-Executive Board Director, you will work as an active member of the Board to:

  • Set strategic direction to ensure services remain person-centred, accessible, connected, effective, and safe
  • Provide oversight of organisational performance and financial sustainability
  • Champion inclusive, culturally safe, and psychologically safe environments for staff, clients, and communities
  • Participate in Board and Committee meetings, contributing expertise to robust and constructive discussions
  • Support continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice in governance, quality, and risk
  • Represent Each in the community, including events and service visits
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to Board evaluation and succession planning

  • Commitment to inclusion — proven ability to foster equitable, safe, and inclusive culture
  • Curiosity, collaboration, and courage — willingness to question, challenge, and contribute collectively
  • Emotional intelligence — empathy, strong communication, and respectful engagement
  • Commercial judgement and purpose-driven focus — business acumen and alignment with Each's mission
  • Monthly time commitment of 8-10 hours including bi-monthly in-person Board meetings plus an annual retreat

Preferred experience & skills

  • Previous Board or governance experience in not-for-profit or related sectors
  • Experience in governance, quality, and risk
