The Opportunity

We are seeking a Clinical Midwifery Consultant to join our Women and Families' Unit at St Andrew's Ipswich Private Hospital. As the Clinical Midwifery Consultant, you will have the opportunity to be active in a leadership role, including the development and provision of evidence-based clinical nursing and midwifery, while working and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The opportunity also allows you to act as a clinical expert, professional role model and change agent to promote practice development and quality initiatives that promote the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality customer service.

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset with the drive to succeed in a ward-based clinical leadership and mentor role. Your passion for patient care and a high standard of customer-focused service will be matched by your ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

You will have exceptional clinical nursing skills, customer service, strong communication and interpersonal skills and also meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Registered Midwife with senior leadership experience
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area
  • Demonstrated experience in providing education to the team
  • Ability to assess, plan, co-ordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patients
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to nursing practice
  • Knowledge and experience in Quality/Continuous Improvement processes
