The Opportunity

This newly created role sits within a lean and proactive Risk and Compliance team, offering exposure across both Line 1 and Line 2 activities. It's suited to someone with a background in controls, assurance, internal audit, risk, or compliance who enjoys partnering with the business to strengthen governance frameworks, uplift risk culture, and drive meaningful change.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating risk assessments with business units to identify, assess, and prioritise key risks
  • Maintaining and enhancing the risk register, ensuring emerging risks are identified and managed
  • Conducting structured control assessments and supporting remediation plans across Line 1 and Line 2
  • Managing incidents, issues, and action plans end-to-end, including tracking and root cause analysis
  • Developing and executing an annual controls assurance plan aligned to the risk profile
  • Preparing clear, actionable reports on risk, compliance and control effectiveness for senior management
  • Advising stakeholders on regulatory changes and internal policy expectations, supporting ongoing compliance
  • Playing an influential role in promoting a strong risk culture across the business

The Expertise

This role is open to a range of backgrounds and experience levels. You'll be successful if you have:

  • Experience in controls, internal audit, risk, assurance, or compliance within financial services or advisory
  • Practical exposure to both Line 1 and Line 2 risk activities
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, control testing, and governance principles
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment, managing competing priorities
