Maintenance Manager - Australia's Best Hotel and Restaurant

The Reef House Adults Retreat is the most iconic Colonial Style Beach House in Queensland. We are renowned for our personalised service in a truly relaxed setting offering tranquillity, ambience and boutique luxury.

We are currently seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Maintenance professional to plan and deliver the highest level of daily property maintenance and long term asset management.

This is critically important for this person to be able to build great relationships with our guests, other department managers and hotel owners.

The Reef House is a beach front property, soft refurbishment is ongoing with many plans already in place.

Management of trades and suppliers is also critical to this role. It is the role of the Maintenances manager to ensure room and property presentation is elevated to the next level above customer expectations.

At the Reef House we value one's ability to be self-motivated, energetic and have a strong understanding of Hotel Maintenance requirements. This is a hands on role, you will be required to work in the department everyday.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Ensure each room is perfectly presented for each new guest arrival and maintained to the highest standards
• Assist the Hotel Owners, General Manager and Assistant General Manager with management of the guest expectation
• Manage the internal maintenance team, external trades and suppliers
• Implement and maintain preventative maintenance program
• Ensure safety and compliance for the property
• Ensure compliance and reporting of Eco certification programs and general department record keeping.
• Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
• Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
• Be confident and set a leading example in our customer service experience, assisting in the service of Brigadier's Punch and Canapes as required.

Skills and experience

• Do not take short cuts, we want the job done right to first time.
• Problem solving 2 to 3 years experience in a similar role
• Trade qualified would be advantageous
• Accurate record keeping and reporting
